Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG)
Information
Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG) was launched officially in EGYPS 2020 according to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Schlumberger (SLB).
EUG aims to digitally promote Egypt’s oil and gas opportunities through providing easy digital access to advanced data visualization and technology, and greater access to geological and geophysical insights. Moreover, the platform facilitates the access to services and functions of the project through different membership tiers, all under a single platform.
The project is designed to efficiently manage all the vast quantities of data generated from exploration and production activities. Also, the data is stored according to the strictest security regime in the National Data Repository (NDR) and includes both public and private data.
Having EUG in operation will enhance prospects of petroleum exploration and facilitate the License Rounds by improving the availability of quality data throughout the year. With this action, Egypt has a NDR centre and is competing effectively in the hydrocarbon Exploration and Production sector.
